Attended a briefing session on Monday evening in Regents Park about marshalling for the Tour de France. Proved to be quite a late night by the time my train got me back to London.
Marshalling the prologue of le Tour is going to be such a great experience. I'm really looking forward to it.

Great event but.................Do hope your experience on the day proved happier than mine and a lot of other volunteers in Kent.
At the briefing we were all told "This event could not happen without you volunteers"
So what happened on the day?
Sent to wrong meeting point, no transport at meeting point, drove 202 miles (70 wasted miles) no 'welfare packs' i.e. t-shirt, cap, water, etc. and no commemorative gift. Will certainly deter a number of people from volunteering for 2012 Olympics
